My Approach
A certified 200 RYT yoga instructor, and qualified prenatal and postnatal yoga instructor. I have been practicing yoga for 20 years reaching back to my mid-teens where my Ballet Academy in Sydney, Australia exposed us to yoga and pilates practice as a cross train to the rigorous weekly ballet schedule.
I went on to play many other sports in my youth at a high level, including track and field, skiing, tennis and boxing. From my experience flexibility and agility are the most important component of all sports, not only as an important tool to perform at your best but also to prevent injury.
Away from professional sport, many of us, including myself, spend most of the day sitting at a desk, or running around after kids, or juggling work shifts and “squeezing” in exercise. This in itself is a recipe for injury, and body and mental breakdown.
By incorporating a daily/weekly yoga practice we can build resilience in our bodies for what ever life throws at us; physically injury but also any emotional stress.
I keep coming back to yoga each day because it just feels so good!
YOGA
Yoga is the integration of the mind, body and spirit. In yoga philosophy there are no “dualities”. Our true whole selves are connected to the wider environment and to the universe. Through the practice of yoga we begin to reveal the truest essence of who we are and see things more clearly, and in doing so start to tackle the habits that cause us suffering and pain.
MEDITATION & PRANAYAMA
Meditation and pranayama (breath work) creates a strong, balanced body and a powerful mind-body connection. Meditation changes the brain in positive ways, rewiring the brain waves and effectively strengthening it. This helps your brain better withstand stress, thereby reducing anxiety and depression.
